Event Description

Caring for yourself is an important aspect of staying emotionally and physically healthy. Developing a lifestyle that focuses on self-care is not always easy, and there are many obstacles along the way. This workshop will look at specific obstacles to being able to adopt a life focused around self-care, and explore your relationship with those obstacles.

Each week we will go through one of the three obstacles to living with self-care.

Each week you will be:

  • Introduced to one of the identified obstacles
  • Led through body-based relaxations and a led visualisation on the topic
  • Given space to make art in response
  • Encouraged to reflect on your experience
  • Able to share some experiences
  • Given some things to do or think about in the week

General art making materials will be needed, and a quiet space.

  • Duration: 3 x 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (no replay available)

Meet the Host, Sarah

Sarah is an art therapist, artist, and creator of nature visualisations. Living in the North York Moors, she has a passion for nature, soothing activities and finding ways to feel connected. She reconnected with art-making 20 years ago after becoming ill and found that art-making and soothing activities made a huge difference to her emotional and physical health. This led her to train as an art therapist, graduating with her MA in 2011. Bringing a sense of soothing and feeling connected has remained her primary focus in her work and life.
