Event Description

I'm inviting you on a tour of the Western Wall of Jerusalem and its environs. Also known as the Wailing Wall, it is an iconic religious site located in Jerusalem, Israel. It holds immense significance for Jews, Christians and Muslims all over the world.  This ancient limestone wall is a remnant of the Second Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. For centuries, the Western Wall has been a place of prayer, pilgrimage, and reflection. Regardless of its spiritual importance, Western Wall represents the link of times as it witnessed some key events of the past and is ready to share these stories with us.

Apart from the visit to the Western Wall, let's walk in the area called Ophel. It's full of ritual purification baths called "mikve". We'll talk about the history and importance of spiritual purification for Jews in times of the Second Temple and nowadays. Also, we'll talk about the famous Western Wall tunnels that helped archaeologists and historians shed light on the past of the Temple Mount.

  • Duration: 60 mins

Meet the Host, Anna

Hi, I’m Anna Levina, a licensed tour guide to Saint Petersburg and soon - to Israel. Due to Russian-Ukrainian war and my zero tolerance of my country’s government, I had to leave my beloved city and job. I’m currently living in Israel. There is no such thing as an ex-guide, so I’m not wasting my time and studying to become a licensed tour guide to the Holy Land. In the meantime, I'm running virtual tours of both, St.Petersburg and all over Israel. Let’s discover all these places together. History is never boring, it’s all how you talk about it. I do all kinds of virtual tours, from big touristy spots, to the nooks off the beaten path.

Preparing for the Event

For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
