- DURATION 6 x 60 mins
Event Description
Just in time for your summer holidays, a brand new Spanish beginners' course for everyone. Whether you participated in my previous Spanish course or not, you'll be learning something new - the level is the same but the content is totally different.
We are going shopping! In this 6 week beginners’ course you’ll learn the words and phrases you need for a shopping spree, as well as some useful grammar, delivered in bite-sized chunks that are designed not to be terrifying.
Over the 6 weeks you’ll learn the numbers 11-100 (please watch the video clip below for numbers 1-10), words for clothes and colours, how to express likes and dislikes, how to give reasons for your preferences and how to ask if something suits you.
We’ll cover asking for the size you want, asking how much something is, and practise understanding prices.
You’ll also learn some words for accessories, how to ask where to find things, and how ask for something cheaper!
We’ll finish the course with some revision, bringing together everything you have learnt to look at some short conversations with the shop assistant.
This course is for complete beginners or anyone who has forgotten all the Spanish they ever learnt.
I can't wait to welcome you to the course and share this wonderful language with you.
Please familiarise yourselves with numbers 1-10 in Spanish as much as you can before the course is due to begin, the video below as prepared by Sally-Jayne will help you learn these:

Sally-Jayne Braisby has had a lifelong love of languages and has wanted to speak French since she was just two years old. After enjoying modern and ancient languages at school, she did a degree in French and Spanish. Following a successful career in language-related jobs, including finance in the City of London, project management in the translation industry and exports in manufacturing, she returned to university and trained as a teacher. Never one to do things by halves, she decided to qualify for both primary and secondary education. She is now a full-time private tutor, teaching mainly languages, maths and English, including English as a foreign language. She is passionate about helping everyone learn, no matter their background, and about sharing her love of languages with the world.
Preparing for the Event
For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).
We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
Resources
