- CAN I WATCH LATER? Yes! Sign-up and we'll email you a recording
Event Description
We are pleased to be offering a short version of the popular Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course over a period of 8 Tuesday morning sessions. These are led by Catherine Nasskau, a trained and experienced mindfulness teacher.
In the course you can learn skills to help reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve sleep and your overall wellbeing.
Each session will have a different focus:
Session 1 – Exploring what mindfulness actually is, with a body scan meditation for relaxation and a mindful eating exercise to experience how being present can help us enjoy things more.
Sessions 2, 3 & 4 – Learning a range of breathing and other techniques to help reduce stress and cope with difficulties.
Session 5 – Understanding how to step back from our thoughts, reduce overthinking, and tame a busy mind.
Session 6 – Strategies to help manage strong emotions.
Session 7 – Developing self-compassion and finding ways to support ourselves during difficult times.
Session 8 – Bringing it all together with simple tips for incorporating mindfulness into daily life.
It is ideal if you can come each or most weeks as each session builds on the previous one, but it is fine if you need to miss a session as we will always start with a recap of the previous class.
We will also share links to free MP3s of meditations led by Catherine. These can let you practise between sessions and can help you get more from the course.
- Duration: 60 mins x 8
