Event Description

Over 9 centuries, Kenilworth Castle has often been front and centre of English history. Beginning as an impregnable royal fortress, it was later turned into one of England's finest palaces, while its ruins inspired writers like Sir Walter Scott and artists like Turner.

This talk takes us through the history of the castle, from its origins to the present day, and the role it has played in some of our country's key events. As we explore the ruins, we find atmospheric reminders of ferocious battles and sieges, medieval tournaments and pageantry, the building of a palace fit for royalty, the modern recreation of an amazing Tudor garden and much more. And as the stories unfold, great figures will step out of the history books and back into the place where they lived, loved, fought and died.

Preparing for the Event

For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
