Event Description

This four week course is designed for those who wish to learn to crochet, or who need a refresher. Women and men of all ages are welcome! During this course, you will be introduced to the zigzag pattern, also known as chevron crochet. We will also cover joining a new skein of yarn, and expand on the use of basic stitches, and techniques. You will have the opportunity to work on a couple of projects based on your comfort level. We will also cover more pattern reading. 

Materials: 

  • Crochet Hook:  5.0 mm (H/8)
  • Yarn for the zigzag crochet project: Two skeins of Lily Sugar and Cream 100% cotton. Pattern will use a solid color and a variegated color. (Solids are available in 71g / 2.5 oz, 109 meter / 120 yard skeins; variegated  are available in 57g / 2 oz, 86 meter / 95 yard skeins)
  • Other Yarn: DK weight in color of your choice. Please select a solid color in a light shade.
  • Duration: 4 x 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (no replay available)

Meet the Host, Marlys

Marlys is an avid crafter and has been enjoying needle arts since the age of seven. With a family full of crafters she has learned crocheting, knitting, quilting, embroidery, and even some wood working techniques! Her background includes 30+ years of teaching crocheting to right- and left-handed students at all ability levels, while serving professionally as senior finance manager at a non-profit in Boston, MA.

What if I can’t make the event?

If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.

Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?

Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.

How do I watch the live event?

Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.

How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)

Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
