- DURATION 60 mins
Event Description
A recital in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
As the Nation prepares to honour her Majesty's awe-inspiring reign, Mirthy is delighted to present this online recital which will celebrate the Queen's service through music and song. Join your host, Julia, as she explores the tunes and hymns that have filled the Queen's reign across the last 70 years. As well as sharing stories behind the songs, Julia will be singing live on Zoom, to give you the chance to appreciate the music as it is supposed to be heard. (And - seeing as you will be muted on Zoom - there's nothing to stop you from singing along at home!). So, pull up a comfy chair and maybe pour yourself a glass, to relax into this evening of mesmerising melodies and triumphant tunes.
Repertoire will include:
I Was Glad
White Cliffs of Dover
Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven
The National Anthem
- Duration: 60 mins
- Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (no replay available)
Julia is a Bristol-based vocalist and singer-songwriter. She doesn’t really mind what projects she gets to be involved with, so long as she gets to sing! Because of this attitude, her portfolio is wide and varied. Though her background is largely choral & classical, she now works primarily as a session and studio vocalist for modern pop and media projects around the world. Whether she’s recording backing vocals for someone’s album or the melody for a new TV score, she’s happiest in the studio, singing her little heart out!
Preparing for the Event
For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).
We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
