Event Description
Introduction to the author:
Fay Keenan lives and works in Somerset. When Fay is not chasing her children around or writing, she teaches English at a local secondary school. She has had six novels published by Head of Zeus and Boldwood books, and her seventh will be published in March 2022. Fay writes ‘heart thumping romantic fiction’ and likes to cover subjects of interest in her novels, including UK Parliament, the Air Ambulance and the international cider making industry. Her novels explore relationships, country living and hopefully have a good sprinkling of escapism, too!
In this event, Abbie - Community Manager- speaks to author Fay about why she started writing romantic fiction and in particular her book 'Snowflakes Over Bay Tree Terrace', December's Book of the Month.

Maria Parfitt studied Viola under Dr Louise Lansdown at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she received a Scholarship. Since graduating in 2017 with a BMus(Hons) Maria has established a busy freelance career across the South West and can often be seen performing regularly with orchestras and ensembles including Southern Sinfonia, The Bristol String Quartet, Bristol Insight Ensemble, Terra Coda and many more. Alongside Maria’s playing career, Maria has years of experience in Arts Administration and she currently holds the position as Music Administrator at Redmaids’ High School in Bristol. She also tutors Primary and Secondary Music Tutor at Wolsey Hall Oxford.
Abbie would describe herself as a proud amateur musician! After joining every Bristol ensemble she could in her first year of university, she developed a real passion for chamber music and loves finding fellow musicians at Bristol orchestras who are keen to play chamber music repertoire. As a viola player in her current quartet and at Bristol Met Orchestra, she also loves an excuse to bring the violin back out of its case and onto a stage! She currently works as a Teaching Assistant in schools in Bristol but prior to this job, she worked as Head of Events at Rest Less!
Preparing for the Event

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
