Event Description

For 400 years, large areas of Britain were part of the Roman Empire.
This talk is all about some of the many places we can see Roman remains
and artefacts in our country today. It outlines how the things we most
associate with the Romans - language, beliefs, art, architecture - all
left their legacy. Covering everything from the rigours of military life
on the frontier to the thrills of the amphitheatre and the luxury of
grand villas and bath houses, we will discover what life in Britannia
was like. Join me for this memorable journey around Roman Britain.

This talk goes hand-in-hand with Sally-Jayne's "Introduction to Latin" lesson.

  • Duration: 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (a recording will be available)
