Event Description

Discover the different art styles that develop in Europe from the fall of Rome to the end of the Gothic period.

8th August - Before Romanesque - today we learn about the state of art in Europe before the development of Romanesque. We will learn about the influence of late antiquity in Christian art, the impact of Islamic art in Europe, and all the other variations that create a very eclectic and exciting world of artistic development and freedom.

15th August - Romanesque - join us for this crash course about everything you need to know about Romanesque. From its origins to the further stages of its development, we will learn how different European societies used it to build their legacies and feudal structures in the high middle ages.

2nd August - Gothic - today we learn how the stylish Gothic artistic move developed in Europe. We will understand different geographical variations from central Europe to the British Isles. We will also discover the religious reason why Gothic took over the world of art.
