Jo Shoebridge

Meet the Host, Jo Shoebridge

Jo's interest in archaeology and ancient Egypt has been lifelong - but got a major boost following a trip to Egypt in the mid 1990's. Following this, she successfully completed a distance learning certificate in Egyptology and really did get the lifelong learning bug!  Jo started university as a mature student in her local town and gained an undergraduate degree in archaeology, with a final year dissertation that investigated trade links and connections across the classical world. For her MA she started to specialise in South Asian networks of communication across the Indian Ocean and beyond from two thousand years ago, and this research developed further in her PhD.

Jo has experience of participating in archaeological excavations in the UK, Eastern Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and is looking forward to sharing and discussing her love of archaeology from different sites around the world!
