Event Description
Born Richard Henry Sellers in Southsea to theatrical parents, Peter became well known in the BBC Radio comedy series ‘The Goon Show’ with Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe and Michael Bentine. Later he began his film career playing one of the criminals in ‘The Ladykillers’ and winning a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his part in ‘I'm All Right Jack’ with Ian Carmichael and Richard Attenborough. Of course his most famous character was that of the bumbling French policeman Chief Inspector Clouseau in ‘The Pink Panther’ series.
In his personal life he had difficulties with depression and insecurities and was married four times. Peter arranged to have a reunion dinner with his Goon Show friends, Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe. This was not to be as he had a heart attack and died in hospital in 1980 at the very young age of 54.

Steve Short has been a full time professional entertainer and speaker for more than 30-years and have entertained on cruise ships and appeared on television and radio. He has given talks and entertained audiences of all types and spoken at many venues and for various functions including after-dinner engagements, charity events, National Trust, Rotary, PROBUS, TWG, WI, U3A.

If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)
Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
