Event Description

Join Amy, pick up your recycling, and create something unexpected! Using the cardboard tube inside a kitchen roll or something similar, create patterns and have fun using your recycling. With foam sheet, scissors, glue and your imagination, let's get together to make a repeat pattern, which we can print over paper or fabrics.

Put on your old clothes/ apron/ gloves, find a clean surface to work on, or place newspaper on a surface to protect it.

You will need:

  • A longer, cardboard tube, such as one from your kitchen roll
  • Foam sheet
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • PVA glue or double-sided tape
  • Paintbrushes (to apply inks)
  • Tracing paper
  • Paper to print on to, such as cartridge paper/ 80g printer paper or similar work well, or scrap paper from recycling, such as envelopes – bigger pieces will be better for this project.
  • Block ink (recommended) – I will be using block ink, but you could experiment with paints. Bear in mind paint will dry quicker than printing ink and may be thicker in consistency, which may affect the quality of your prints. Still, it’ll be fun to experiment with whatever you have to hand.
  • Duration: 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (no replay available)
