Never Lose a Photo Again: Getting Started with Google Photos - Organise and Discover
Are you overwhelmed by the sheer number of digital photos stored on your phone and tablet? Do you worry about losing precious memories if your device is lost or damaged?
This two-part online workshop will introduce you to the Google Photos app, a free and powerful app that can revolutionise the way you manage your digital photo collection right from your smartphone or tablet!
In part one on Thursday 6th February, we’ll aim to help you discover:
- What the Google Photos app is and how it can simplify your digital life.
- How to safely and automatically back up all your photos and videos from your phone/tablet to the cloud (so you never lose them again!).
- How to set up and navigate the Google Photos app with ease.
- How to effortlessly organise your photos into albums, even if you have thousands of them.
- How to find any photo in seconds using Google's smart search technology, directly within the app.
In part two on Wednesday 26th February, we’ll aim to help you discover:
- How to improve your photos with the app's easy-to-use editing tools.
- How to get creative and make fun collages, animations, and movies - all on your phone or tablet.
- How to easily share your photos and albums with friends and family, near or far, directly from the app.
- How to collaborate on shared albums for special occasions.
- How to take control of your privacy and sharing settings within the app.
Designed especially for those new to Google Photos, these workshops will show you how to effortlessly store, organise, find, edit, and share your photos, all within the app.

What if I can’t make the event?
If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)
Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
