Event Description

Join Dr Simon Gregor for an hour of seasonal and festive poetry! If you're looking for a relaxing hour of literature between Christmas and new year, then hopefully this will fit the bill. Simon will introduce a variety of poems from different eras, by a selection of poets, in an assortment of styles. In each case he'll share a little bit of history about the poem and its writer, as well as reading the poem itself. Sometimes witty, perhaps reflective, maybe exuberant, and occasionally mournful, this selection of poems provides a window onto the rich array of experiences surrounding the festive season.

  • Duration: 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (a recording will be available)

He has a passion for bringing history to life, in particular by looking at the human stories and impacts which lie behind the sweeping changes of political and social history.
