Event Description

Got time to kill before the clock strikes twelve on New Year’s Eve? Well, Lunch Club too! We’ll be getting together after supper (or dinner—depends where you are! ), to share virtually a hot or cold beverage in fellowship, maybe a sweet treat too. So, bring your “party”—drinks, hats, snacks, lots to talk about—and let’s have fun! To get into the festive spirit, below are a few how-to/recipe links just for fun and inspiration (i.e., absolutely no need to spend extra). See you on the 31st!

If you’d like to make yourself a party hat, this Wiki How explains (with pictures) how to make two types (cone or  crown), and here’s a YouTube video on how to make a party blower.

New York Times Cooking has a recipe for the classic hot chocolate or, here’s a simple hot cocoa.

For mocktails, you can never go wrong with a “Shirley Temple” (to make it a “Roy Rodgers”, just swap the soda with a cola such as Pepsi); or there’s the Food Network’s recipe for “Virgin Pomegranate and Cranberry Bellinis”; or perhaps you’d prefer one of Towne and Country Magazine’s fancy (and spendy!) “12 Mocktails That Are Worthy of New Year’s Eve“.

More Information

What if I can’t make the event?

If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.

Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?

Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.

How do I watch the live event?

Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.

How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)

Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
