Event Description
Each year, during the months of October and November, India comes alive with the vibrant celebrations of Diwali. Don't miss this unique opportunity to virtually immerse yourself in the Diwali festivities, all from the cosy comfort of your couch in your pyjamas.
This enchanting experience will unfold as detailed below:
- Your journey begins with a warm traditional welcome by our host, accompanied by a spirited dance performance to a Diwali tune.
- Delve into the depths of Diwali as we provide you with comprehensive insights into the 'why,' 'how,' 'when,' and 'what' of this grand festival.
- Embark on a captivating tour of our beautifully adorned home, exuding the essence of the Diwali season. You'll encounter traditional lamps, candles, fragrant flowers, delectable sweets, dazzling fireworks, and thoughtful gifts.
- Witness the creation of a mesmerising Rangoli, an intricate artwork meticulously crafted on the floor using coloured sand, rice, flowers, and lamps, skillfully prepared by the host's wife.
- Join the host's wife in the kitchen as she guides you through the process of cooking delicious Nariyal Ladoos (Coconut Balls). The ingredients will be shared with you in advance, and the recipe will be unveiled during the tour.
- Partake in a Diwali prayer ceremony at a Hindu Temple, complete with the resonating sound of bells and the gentle glow of lamps.
The session shall be very interactive with ample opportunities for the guests to ask all their burning questions about Diwali or Indian culture or traditions either during the online session itself or towards the end of the experience.

Meet the Host, Roopak
I have been travelling and exploring different cultures with a passion for the past 9-10 years. My love for travel has only grown over the years, and I have been a host on various platforms since August 2019. I've offered 1000+ offline & online sessions to guests from all around the world, ranging from cooking, meditation, traditions and festivals of India. I take pride in showcasing our vibrant culture in the most simple manner while answering any questions they may have. As an Indian native, I am here to build long lasting relationships and bonds with my guests and am passionate about helping bring people closer together through shared experiences. I hope to continue providing guests with an unforgettable cultural experience for a long time to come.
Preparing for the Event
For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).
We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!

What if I can’t make the event?
If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)
Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
