- DURATION 60 mins
Event Description
In his talk on March 28th, historian and tour guide Simon Gregor spoke about the history of the University of Cambridge, and his time as an undergraduate there. In this talk, he will share his experiences of studying much later, as a mature student, for a PhD in history at the University of Wolverhampton. What is it like to study for a PhD? How does it feel to embark on study as a “mature student”? What does having a PhD even mean? And what do you learn from the process? As Simon will explain, he ended up learning as much about himself and what makes him tick, as he did about the historic subject matter he was studying. Expect a mix of history, academia, and light-hearted personal stories and insights as we hear the ”confessions of a PhD student”…
