Event Description
Many moons ago, caravans laden with silk, tea, perfume, and porcelain crossed Central Asia to the markets of Europe and Africa. Heading in the opposite direction: honey, horses, glassware, and gold. Along this ancient Silk Road, nations and empires emerged. In this exclusive talk, Cox & Kings invites you to journey along the historic Silk Road with Diana Driscoll, an esteemed researcher and lecturer at the British Museum. Known for her expertise in the religion, history, culture, and languages of the Islamic world, Diana will delve into the captivating past of the Silk Road and share insights on how best to experience this remarkable region today. She leads two specialist-led tours with Cox & Kings— Uzbekistan: The Golden Road to Samarkand and Pakistan: Persians, Mughals & Mystics—and will offer an in-depth exploration of these unforgettable destinations.
