Event Description
As summer approaches we often want to spend more time outdoors and less time in the kitchen. This series will take you through four 30 min meals for you to enjoy on those warmer days - flexible and fun, they are perfect for lunch or dinner! As always Shamal will have plenty of tips and hints for ingredient substitutes and what to do with any leftovers!
9th June - Tandoori Paneer Skewers
- 200g paneer
- 1 large red onions
- ½ green bell pepper
- ½ yellow/orange bell pepper
- 50g thick plain yoghurt
- 2 tbsp of tikka masala paste
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp minced ginger
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- Handful of fresh coriander
23rd June - Prawn Fried Rice
- 3 tbsp roasted sesame oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 tsp ginger
- 1/2 onion
- 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine or dry sherry
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 150g small shrimp/prawns , cooked and peeled
- 3 cups cooked long grain white rice , refrigerated overnight
- 3 scallions
- 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce (all purpose or light) (Note 3)
- 1/2 tsp roasted sesame oil
7th July - Microwave Dhal
- 200g washed split red lentils
- 800ml water
- 1tsp cumin seeds
- 1tsp Tomato paste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1tsp garlic ginger paste
- 1tsp veggie stock
- Salt to taste
- Handful of Chopped coriander
- Lemon juice
21st July - Crispy garlic mushrooms, with goats cheese on toast
- 50g mushrooms
- 25g butter
- 2 cloves garlic
- Handful of fresh parsley
- 1tsp chilli flakes
- 4 sprigs of thyme
- 10g soft goats cheese
- Bread of your choice
- Duration: 30 mins x 4

What if I can’t make the event?
If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)
Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
