Event Description

Come and join Rock Choir for a vocal yoga session

Vocal Yoga is designed to promote wellness and improve vocal technique. It will help you “find your voice” not just for singing  but so you can move towards greater self-expression and ease of communication, both physically and mentally. Vocal Yoga improves posture and coordination and will help you to feel more relaxed and less anxious reducing negative thoughts and a more balanced state of mind. During the session Katie will work through breathing, stretching and meditative practices and to ensure it is accessible to everyone she will run a predominately seated practice. Come and discover the benefits of breathwork!

  • Duration: 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (no replay available)

Meet the Host, Katie from Rock Choir

Katie is a qualified and registered multi-disciplinary Yoga teacher, Vocal Yoga teacher, qualified Kinesiology Wellness Practitioner, with expertise in Breathwork, Sound, and Nutrition. She has also extensively studied and received various qualifications in an array of other disciplines; such as Alexander Technique, Qi Gung, Energy Healing. She is a classically trained pianist and vocalist, with a Higher Diploma from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Performance Vocals. During her career she has had the privilege of singing alongside Sam Brown, of Pink Floyd fame and supported vocalist Patti Russo of Meatloaf. Katie has used all of her knowledge and experience to develop a unique yoga-based practice which aims to release and enhance our voices, whilst holding space for us to also improve our mental and physical health and well-being.

Preparing for the Event

For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
