Event Description
Just an hour and 20 minutes from St Pancras Station, Lille is a very accessible city. Its also a lovely place for a short break. Now firmly in France but full of beautiful historic Flemish buildings, the city is very easy to explore on foot., though the city bus tour is well worth doing. Le Vieux Lille is full of narrow streets, with some stunning boutiques and a wonderful patisserie on every street corner. Eating out is certainly not a problem here. Some of the street art may not be to everyone's taste but it proved an interesting talking point. A short train ride out of Lille to Roubaix and there is the chance to visit the most stunning art gallery, created from a disused swimming pool. A visit in December for the Christmas Market is another popular option.

Meet the Host, Sue
Sue Ablett is a great traveller, having visited all continents and loves talking about her trips. Her career included a mix of jobs, from Russian Linguist to Executive Director of a national children’s cancer charity, pulling in a PhD ‘just for fun’ along the way. Now retired she is Chair of Evesham Festival of Words, an avid litter picker, and, despite the advanced years, still a keen distance runner. She also enjoys cycling, dog walking, gardening and splits her life between Leicestershire and Evesham.

What if I can’t make the event?
If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)
Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
