- DURATION 60 mins
Event Description
Can anyone sing? What does it mean to be "tone deaf" and is it fixable? What is my vocal range, and could I ever sound like the professionals???
All these questions and more will be answered in this introductory talk.
Hint: Yes, anyone can learn to sing!
During the class you'll discover the connection between breath and voice, uncover the mechanics of singing and gain an insight into what type of voice you might have, plus have the chance to try out some simple exercises that could help you to unlock your vocal potential. We will also look at the wider health benefits of singing and how we can keep our vocal cords in the best condition for speaking too.
This is a practical class, so please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to take part in some basic breathing and singing exercises (don't worry, everyone will be muted!). The exercises are designed to be done seated, but there is also the option to stand for parts of the class if you prefer.
